Dear new students and scholars,
Welcome to University of Maryland, College Park (UMD)!
To better serve our Chinese students and scholars in the UMD, please register with the Chinese Student and Scholar Association (CSSA) if you are coming in the summer or fall of 2008. CSSA can arrange for airport pick-up and temporary housing (Aug. 1-30). The pick-up and temporary housing (i.e. welcome house) are free, but you are responsible for the parking fee (about $5-20) in the airport. If you come in a group of 5 or more people, that will be better for CSSA to coordinate. The pick-up and temporary housing services are contributed by CSSA, Chinese Bible Study Group and Grace Fellowship. To better serve those who are in real need, please limit your stay in the welcome house within one week. A sleeping bag is highly recommended to bring over.
Please email Mr Shen (dshen@arec.umd.edu) and Mr. Liu(liuyanguir@yahoo.com.cn)with the subject "New Student Registration" ASAP. You need to fill in the following registration form using the standardized format. Please indicate if you need pick-up service and /or temporary housing.

Be sure that the house/apartment is on the shuttle route or within walking distance to campus if you don’t have a car. We also suggest you to contact the Chinese students in your department for further assistance, like paying a deposit for you in advance if needed. Please check our website http://www.umdcssa.org for updated information.
Sincerely,
